I have again signed up to do the Leslie Saeta’s 30-in-30 Painting Challenge, which starts tomorrow, September 1, and runs all month. Here is my favorite corner from my unfinished opus from January’s Challenge:
The point of the Challenge is to paint every day. I was thinking my theme this time could be “Portrait Practice from the Pile,” as I need serious practice with color and paint application to keep my painted peeps from ending up too gray or purple. It daunts me, though, because I’ll find it tough to be satisfied with any likeness I can get in the 2-3 hours I’ll have to paint each day. This means unfinished, embarrassing sketches, no doubt. On the other hand, I need the discipline of making a commitment like this and sharing it with you.
I’ll likely modify this plan within the next day or two. Stand by!
